Prior to law school, Dipal Shah had his first opportunity to tackle the world of employee benefits when he worked at Towers Perrin as a Health and Welfare Associate, creating health care plans for Fortune 500 clients. But his grassroots and personal approach to the law comes from a background in the public interest arena.  Specifically, he obtained valuable experience as Manager of Mediation Services at the Center for Conflict Resolution in Chicago. Dipal credits his experience in mediation as a major influence on the way he effectively evaluates legal issues to formulate strategy and itemize the best interests of the client. Additionally, as an Associate at Laner, Muchin, Dombrow, Becker, Levin & Tominberg Ltd., he developed valuable public speaking skills by moderating and speaking at large training sessions, teaching clients and their employees about employment law related issues.  These skills aid him in tackling and communicating with clients about the complex issues they may face.

Dipal, a member of the Litigation practice group, was drawn to Groom’s personalized approach to employee benefits law.  He says, “I like that Groom is filled with bright and hardworking leaders in the field, but is also more of a community than the typical firm, where the people are extremely kind and good-natured.  This is refreshing and exciting to see amongst a group of lawyers!”

In May 2005, Dipal graduated with cum laude honors from the American University Washington College of Law.  He also received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors, graduating with a double major in Political Science and International Studies from Northwestern University, where he was named to the Dean's List five times.

Dipal Shah is admitted to practice in the state of Illinois and the District of Columbia.
