Julia Zuckerman was drawn to employee benefits law because, she says, “it is an incredibly dynamic field that intersects with so many other interesting areas of the law, including securities, labor & employment, bankruptcy, and tax.”
Julia, who enjoys working on New York Times crossword puzzles, likens employee benefits litigation to puzzle solving: “Benefits challenges are often like puzzles, and I find great intellectual stimulation in the problem solving process."
Julia previously worked in the Office of Representation Appeals at the National Labor Relations Board, where she drafted majority opinions and dissents for published NLRB cases. She came to work at Groom Law Group because she was looking to transition into the employee benefits field and perceived Groom's litigation group to be an "ideal fit” for her. "Groom is the premiere employee benefits boutique in the country, and I knew that I'd find challenging and exceptional employee benefits work here," says Julia.
Since joining Groom, Julia has been busy developing her practice concentration in the multi-faceted arena of employee benefits litigation. She loves the fast pace of benefits litigation, and is grateful to work in a collegial environment alongside a cadre of knowledgeable and seasoned benefits attorneys.
Julia earned her BA in history from Vassar College, where she received general honors and history department honors, and was selected for Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society membership. She earned her JD from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, where she graduated magna cum laude and received Order of the Coif honors.
Julia is admitted to practice in California and the District of Columbia.
