Heather seized the opportunity to join what she thinks is the Country’s best employee benefits law firm, where she is now a member of the Health and Legislation and Policy practice groups. On her decision to join Groom, Heather says, “In law school I was researching benefits and ERISA plans for Children's Hospital. In researching ERISA experts - the Groom LAw Group rose to the top. And, if you have to start somewhere, why not start at the top?” She is excited to collaborate with such an accomplished group of colleagues.
After graduating from college with honors, Heather accepted a job in Washington, D.C. with United States Senator Patty Murray, where she learned first-hand about politics and policy and gained an appreciation for the complexity and importance of our national health care policy. The nexus between personal health and welfare and public policy is one of competing aims and aspirations. Heather’s interest in health care and the law compelled her to attend the University of Washington School of Law where she focused her studies on health law. Prior to coming to the Groom Law Group, Heather also served as an extern for Washington State Supreme Court Justice Susan Owens and as the Deputy Director for Surrogate Scheduling during the 2004 presidential campaign.
When she isn’t working, Heather enjoys hiking and cooking.
Heather is admitted to practice in New York, and the District of Columbia.
