An attorney with a degree in social work and a history of community service, Rebecca Oldroyd sees her employee benefits work as way to help people.
“Benefits law has a human component to it,” says Rebecca. “I like knowing that the work I do impacts companies and employees in a positive way.”
But she also enjoys working complex employee-benefits puzzles for her clients.
“The problem-solving component of legal practice has always appealed to me,” says Rebecca. “I enjoy working in the field of employee benefits because I face new questions and challenges every day and I am constantly learning. It is such a diverse, complex practice area that I know I will never be bored.”
She helps clients with compliance and structuring of benefit plans so as to avoid mistakes and oversights that could be costly—both for employers and employees—in the future. She has also counseled private equity clients on employee benefits issues in mergers and acquisitions. In all she does, she strives to give responsive and on-target client service.
“I like to provide superior legal services to all my clients, meaning that they all receive accurate and timely answers to complex legal questions,” Rebecca says. “I would want them to think that I am knowledgeable, thorough, efficient, skilled and personable.”
Prior to joining Groom Law Group, Rebecca performed employee benefits work for a Chicago law firm. During her tenure there, she was a community volunteer with multiple Chicago organizations.
Previously she served as Special Projects Coordinator in the Utah State Olympic Office for the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
Fluent in Polish, she has traveled to more than 25 foreign countries.
Rebecca is admitted to practice in Illinois. |
