Groom’s team of nearly sixty attorneys attended twenty-seven different law schools
and forty-three different colleges, majoring in mathematics,
political science, accounting—and industrial engineering,
social relations, and nursing. One of the firm’s
top litigators studied algebraic theory after receiving
his degree from MIT—when he wasn’t playing
the classical piano. He consults regularly on tax
issues with a colleague who majored in English and Philosophy
as an undergraduate.
A senior Principal at the firm spent
a good part of the 1970s directing a legal services
office and has crossed both the Atlantic and the Pacific
in a small sailboat. He
often finds himself sharing ideas and strategies with
a colleague who served for five years as a military
intelligence officer in the army before pursuing her
legal degree. They
both work regularly on fiduciary matters with a former
All-American Scholar Athlete at Avilla College and
a graduate of Minot State who taught high school math
for ten years and then trekked through the Himalayas
before going to law school.
Drawing on their diverse backgrounds,
Groom’s
attorneys offer clients a perspective on issues and
disputes in their field that simply cannot be matched
by any other law firm in the country.
