Andrée has been practicing employee benefits law for over 20 years. She began her career as a litigator in the Department of Labor's Plan Benefit Security Division, DOL's national ERISA litigation office. Andrée then moved on to the UMWA Health and Retirement Funds, a group of large multiemployer pension and welfare plans. At the UMWA Funds, she served as Associate General Counsel and was responsible for fiduciary investment compliance, plan qualification, and benefits litigation. She joined Groom Law Group in 1994, following three years of private practice representing plans and financial institutions on ERISA Title I issues.   “I chose Groom because it has the broadest range of clients possible in the area of employee benefits,” she says, “and because my colleagues are the best in the field.  Our practice is professionally and intellectually rewarding, and because the products, services, and trends in employee benefits are constantly changing, we are continually challenged to learn and ultimately to master new and important issues.”

At Groom Law Group, Andrée provides representation to a broad range of clients, including corporate and public plans, multiemployer plans, mutual fund complexes, insurance companies, banks, investment managers, plan administrators, and other providers to employee benefit plans. She focuses primarily on issues related to Title I of ERISA, including fiduciary responsibility and prohibited transaction matters. Andrée obtains prohibited transaction exemptions from the DOL and negotiates contracts on behalf of plans and service providers. She also specializes in helping financial institutions structure investments and other products and services for the pension and welfare plan market.

Andrée received her law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1983, and graduated first in her class from Spring Hill College in 1980.
