Jeff Witt practices in the employee benefits and tax areas with a primary focus on matters involving qualified plans (both defined benefit and defined contribution) and non-qualified retirement plans. He has assisted clients in all aspects of their retirement programs, including plan design and drafting, operations, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) rulings and corrections, Department of Labor (DOL) audits and inquiries, participant communications, and mergers and acquisitions. He also has extensive experience addressing Code section 409A issues in the design and operation of non-qualified plans and executive compensation arrangements.
Mr. Witt joined Groom after being Senior Corporate Counsel at a Fortune 50 company with legal responsibility for the retirement and executive compensation areas. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Witt practiced as a C.P.A. and auditor in the banking industry.
