Sarah A. Zumwalt
Through her unlikely college major of physics, Sarah Zumwalt began to develop the analytical skills that she utilizes every day in her legal career. “I enjoyed considering how adjusting one variable or another could affect the outcome of an experiment,” says Sarah. “I eventually realized that I would prefer to spend my days working with words rather than numbers, so I headed off to law school. In the practice of law – and especially ERISA – the analytical skills I developed as a physics major are put to use solving complex problems for my clients.”
Sarah enjoys serving her clients best through taking a complex situation or a nuanced concept and organizing it into a straightforward, convincing legal argument. Knowing that cases can be won or lost based on the strength of the written argument, Sarah works to find the very most persuasive cases and painstakingly crafts them together into the most coherent legal argument. “I try to create a roadmap for the judge to rule in favor of my client," Sarah says. "This is the most effective way to give the clients the results for which they hired us – and it’s satisfying, too.”
