Groom’s Pro Bono Commitment:
Supporting Our Attorneys Who Support Our Community

  • Helping facilitate small loans to impoverished women worldwide, enabling them to start their own businesses.
  • Working to expand benefits for employees diagnosed with catastrophic illnesses.
  • Aiding small non-profit organizations with tax issues.

These are just three ways—among many—that Groom attorneys are using their particular expertise to benefit the community and provide top-notch legal counsel to those who otherwise couldn’t afford it.  We understand that, as legal professionals and human beings, it’s our responsibility to use our talents to the good of the community—both locally and globally.

Our Pro Bono Committee encourages, trains and oversees Groom attorneys in wide-ranging pro bono efforts.  Further, the firm recognizes 100 annual pro bono hours toward an attorney’s billable work and approves additional hours for special projects.  Also, summer associates are encouraged to take part in our pro bono efforts.

One of our most far-reaching pro bono endeavors, MicroCredit Enterprises, involves the efforts of  at least seven Groom attorneys, including Gary Ford, who serves as the organization’s General Counsel. Click here to read a recent Legal Times article by Ford on how MicroCredit Enterprises helps poor families worldwide with small, empowering loans.
