Collection of Contributions

The plan sponsor of a multiemployer plan is required to make reasonable, diligent, and systematic efforts to collect contributions due the plan.  We help employers to develop collection policies and to enforce the policies, including, if appropriate, engaging in litigation.  This work includes:

• Determining the appropriate rate of interest to charge for late contributions.
• Identifying the factors to consider in deciding whether to settle a claim for contributions.
• Establishing delinquency and collection rules to apply to employers on a systematic basis.
