Adoption Services

On a pro bono basis, Groom attorneys represent foster parents and other relatives who wish to adopt or obtain custody of children trapped in the foster care system. At the core of every adoption is a civil litigation case. With the support of the firm, Groom attorneys manage the adoption litigation, argue to terminate the parental rights of unfit birth parents, petition for the adoption and advocate for the client's welfare. Through this program we are able to utilize our legal expertise to help children in abusive, neglectful, and unsafe homes become part of a permanent and loving family.

Groom frequently works with The Children's Law Center, the largest civil legal service provider in DC and the only organization that provides comprehensive legal representation specifically for children.
