Matthew advises both health insurers and large plan sponsors on a variety of health law matters, including issues arising under ERISA, the Affordable Care Act, the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, COBRA and HIPAA. He also defends employers in connection with audits by the Department of Labor.

Matthew received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan School of Law. While at the University of Michigan, he was a contributing editor of the Michigan Law Review.

Prior to law school, Matthew attended the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (“Virginia Tech”). He graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.A. in English, summa cum laude and honors baccalaureate. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family camping, hiking and traveling.
