Justin Holmes specializes in representing financial institutions, retirement plans, and trustees in litigation concerning fiduciary duties, employee stock ownership plans, and class action lawsuits related to 401(k) fees.

Justin has experience with all aspects of ERISA-related litigation, such as preparing and implementing trial and discovery strategies, conducting witness interviews, preparing expert witnesses for trial, arguing dispositive motions, and managing all facets of discovery. He has represented clients at all stages of civil litigation in federal and state courts across the country, navigated federal and state agency proceedings, and helped clients through governmental investigations.

Prior to joining Groom, Justin practiced for several years in the D.C. office of an international law firm where he focused on complex commercial litigation. He litigated a broad range of claims including:  representing a nationwide organization throughout the country regarding their trademark claims, defending a major sports arena in a high-stakes wrongful death action, and bringing a substantial tax refund action on behalf of a large corporate client.
