Groom’s summer associate program kicks into gear with the welcoming of four summer associates joining the firm.
Groom’s immersive summer program offers exposure into the firm’s practices and culture while providing a number of professional development opportunities. Summer associates work alongside Groom attorneys on actual assignments for real clients to gain meaningful experiences. Additionally, they are paired with a mentor to serve as a practical advisor and to help guide them through the day-to-day. The program also offers various trainings and a number of social events through the season.
Jaylon Denkins is a rising 2L at Southern University Law Center. Prior to entering law school, Jaylon worked as an enterprise technology sales professional and most recently, as a global sales operations specialist. Jaylon received his undergraduate degree at Huston-Tillotson University where he was Vice President of the Student Government Association.
Emily Gerard is a rising 3L at University of Virginia School of Law where she works as a Research Assistant for Professor Richard Bonnie and serves as the Programming Co-Chair for the Student Bar Association. Emily received her graduate degree with honors from The Johns Hopkins University and her undergraduate degree with honors from Gordon College.
Eboni Onuoha is a rising 3L at Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law where she is a Senior Editor of the Thurgood Marshall Law Review. Eboni received her undergraduate degree from University of Maryland, Baltimore County, during which she interned for the Office of the Public Defender, Baltimore City—Felony Division.
Chelsea Pardes is a rising 3L at The George Washington University Law School. Chelsea received her undergraduate degree summa cum laude from State University of New York College at Genesco which she followed with internships at the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the General Counsel, Civil Rights Division and the Animal Legal Defense Fund.
