Jessica is a member of Groom’s Health and Welfare Practice where she advises plan sponsors, insurers, and third-party administrators on the full range of health and welfare benefits compliance, including COBRA, HIPAA, and the Affordable Care Act.
Her work covers plan design, federal tax compliance, claims and appeals processes, eligibility and enrollment issues, and the day-to-day challenges of plan administration. She drafts and reviews plan documents and participant communications, including summary plan descriptions (SPDs), summaries of material modifications (SMMs), and summaries of benefits and coverage (SBCs). She also represents plan sponsors and insurers in Department of Labor investigations.
Within the firm, Jessica serves on the Associates Committee and has contributed to the Pro Bono, Professional Development, and Wellness Committees.
