Jessica is an associate in Groom’s Employers and Health Services practice groups. She advises both health insurers and large plan sponsors on a variety of health law matters, including issues arising under ERISA, the Affordable Care Act, the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, COBRA, and HIPAA. Jessica received her law degree, magna cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law where she was elected to the Order of the Coif for highest scholastic achievement. While in law school, she interned for the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation and served as a member of the Administrative Law Review, which published her comment on the Department of Veteran Affairs’ use of Advanced Practice Nurses to alleviate its health care access concerns. Jessica holds a B.S. in Psychology from Utah State University and worked as a social worker prior to entering law school.
