Patrick DiCarlo brings over 25 years of experience representing plan sponsors, service providers and fiduciaries regarding claim and appeal issues and litigation of ERISA disputes of all types. He has deep experience consulting with plan sponsors and administrators on a variety of benefits-related matters, including best practices in benefit claims administration, Department of Labor claims regulations, and litigation risk-management strategies. Pat routinely walks plan sponsors and fiduciaries through the complex legal issues associated with administrative claim processes. Prior to joining Groom, Pat spent over 18 years in the employee benefits group of a large, multi-service firm where he counseled and represented some of America’s largest employers regarding a wide variety of employee benefit claims and related litigation. Over the course of his career, Pat has handled hundreds of retirement, life, health, disability and executive compensation cases in federal courts across the country, including over a dozen federal appeals. Pat is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, where he lives with his three children.
