David Powell, who will also serve as a conference planning chair, will present “403(b) and 457(b) Updates” and “Governmental Plans and Church Plans Update.” “403(b) and 457(b) Updates” will address the potential impact of SECURE 2.0 on 403(b)s, required amendments and common issues, new cycle 2 for preapproved plans, and more. “Governmental Plans and Church Plans Update” will cover topics including new governmental and church plan litigation and SECURE Act changes for these plans.
Kevin Walsh will be a speaker on “Hot Topics in Retirement Plan Investments,” addressing cryptocurrencies and other alternative investments, evolving guidance on ESG investing, anti-money laundering rules and Office of Foreign Asset Control sanctions on investments (and distributions), including Russia sanctions, and more.
Jeff Witt will serve as a panelist on “Recent Distribution Rule Changes for Defined Contribution Plans,” covering RMDs under the new proposed regulations for plan administration and drafting, eligible designated beneficiaries, and potential RMD alterations under SECURE 2.0.
