Sixteen Groom attorneys and staff participated in the 9/11 National Day of Service, an event sponsored by Greater DC Cares, a non-profit organization located in the Washington, DC.  More than 2,200 volunteers in the region cleaned parks, served meals to the hungry, restored our national monuments, organized public libraries, and more.

To show our support for this important day, volunteers from Groom, Booz Allen Hamilton, and George Washington’s Black Law School Association woke up early on a rainy Friday morning to assist the National Park Service with their efforts to preserve the National Mall

Despite the dreary weather, spirits were high as volunteers suited up in rain gear and weeded and cleaned up the National Mall.  It was a memorable experience and volunteers were encouraged to reflect about where we were on 9/11, our thoughts about the day, and how the tragedy has affected our lives.
