Hannah concentrates on ERISA class action matters pertaining to retirement plans. She represents retirement plan sponsors, fiduciaries, investment committees, and service providers in complex class action lawsuits.
Hannah’s practice focuses on the defense of class actions for breach of fiduciary duty claims and prohibited transaction claims under ERISA, including claims relating to proprietary funds, target-date funds, forfeiture allocation practices, employer contribution structures, investment monitoring processes, excessive-fee allegations, investment performance, and plan governance issues.
She regularly assists clients through all phases of litigation, including motions to dismiss, discovery, class certification, expert discovery, summary judgment, trial preparation, and appeals.
Hannah also has broad experience in other areas of retirement plan litigation, including the defense of defined benefit plans and individual retirement plans under state law and Department of Labor investigations.
Prior to joining Groom, Hannah practiced at a boutique law firm in Delaware where she focused on advising clients on various matters, including corporate governance disputes, derivative actions, and breach of fiduciary duty claims.
Hannah graduated cum laude from American University, Washington College of Law, and she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Auburn University. While at Auburn, she was a member of the varsity equestrian team where she earned All-American honors and contributed to a National Championship and SEC Championship.
