The COVID-19 pandemic continues to be an important issue for plan sponsors.  In continuation of our bi-weekly COVID-19 webinar series, Groom Law Group will host the webinar, “Benefits Plans and COVID-19 – Key Issues for Employers Related to Business Relief and Tax Provisions” on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m ET.  This 30-minute webinar is intended for plan sponsors to help understand the key business relief and tax-related provisions in the FFCRA and CARES Act related to the economic downturn caused by COVID-19.

We intend to cover key requirements and implementation issues under the following provisions:

  • Paid leave tax credits (including the definition of qualified health plan expenses)
  • Employment tax deferrals
  • Employee retention tax credits (including qualified health plan expenses)
  • Treatment of benefits under the Paycheck Protection Program
