Principal Seth Perretta was quoted in the Kaiser Health News article that was also published by NPR, “Three Things to Know About Insurance Coverage for Abortion,” which covered three crucial questions about how insurance abortion coverage policies may be affected by the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
In discussion of whether state laws surrounding abortion services, coverage, travel cost subsidies, etc. will apply to employers or insurers, Perretta commented that, “We are in uncharted territory here, as we’ve never before been in a situation where plans, as well as their employer sponsors and those administering the plans, might face criminal liability in connection with a plan benefit.”
