While Groom has a national practice, representing clients in matters throughout the country, critical to client service is involvement “on the ground” in all aspects of the legislative and regulatory process. From our offices, we can see the White House, Congress, and many of the federal agencies that regulate our clients on a day-to-day basis. It is just a short walk or taxicab ride to meetings with legislators and regulators who shape the rules essential to the operation of retirement, health, and welfare plans. Groom attorneys routinely help to develop legislation, and frequently comment on new legislation and interact directly with regualtors in developing guidance.  Several of our attorneys came to the firm directly from their service in government, and we draw on the depth of this government experience to shape innovative strategies for disputes in the courtroom, regulatory investigations, and a host of other matters.
